Located in the second sunniest region of France, the hamlet of la Foye de Vinax is adjacent to vineyards, extensive fields of wheat and sunflowers as well as the magnificent Forest of Aulnay. The gite is situated in one of Europe's richest cultural areas, with a host of beautiful historic sites within easy reach. Just fifteen minutes by car you will find the immaculate town square of Aulnay. The charming town boasts a full range of boutiques and shops including an Intermarché store. The town has weekly markets, bars, hairdressers, chemists and a delightful kitchen shop that serves tea! Aulnay Church is a World Heritage Monument and is regarded as one of the top ten Romanesque churches in France. The main towns in the region are: Angouleme, Chef Boutonne, Cognac, Dampierre, La Rochelle, Limoges, Poitiers (Futuroscope), Saintes and St. Jean d'Angély. The gite has easy access from all directions, especially the A10 autoroute (J33 & J34).
